Details of the fantasy world are clearly replicated in their respective channels to mirror whatever that is on-screen. Distinct directionality can be heard throughout the movie to provide the extra surround oomph. Lines have excellent textures that do not separate to give you an uncomfortable listening experience. This is indeed a successful childhood fairytale revamp that features a spectacular audio presentation that brings the pages of the storybook classic to live.

Present in this classic Disney remake is a dose of meticulously programmed fantasy trail that orders on-point teamwork from each component of your surround system. The movie’s soundtracks display not only magnificence but enhance every ounce of emotion into goosebumps-inducing moments.

With your surround speakers dutifully carrying out the intricacies of the added subtle effects to put you right in the danger zone. The interesting use of overhead channels to sink you underwater is definitely uncommon and one of our favorites. No need for a punch in the chest to feel every explosion and destruction that spreads evenly from your subwoofer(s).

The high octane, pulse inducing street car racing game delivers its adrenaline-driven core to the big screen. None of the fast car’s purrs and engine whirrings are left behind by your surround speakers. Dialogues are heard coherently amidst the swooshing mayhem from the cars circling around you. Hypercars flips, as well as explosions, are brought into the sound mix to keep you glued to your seat. This is one that is not to be missed if you are a fan of all things racing.

A nod to the classic King Kong of 1933, Kong: Skull Island is definitely demo worthy when you want to showcase the wrath of your subwoofer(s). It builds every tension on-screen with stomps and explosions that fills the ground, no matter how big or small. While aircraft are predictable in a movie with building-sized primate, we are still surprised by how it manages to make us feel like we are in one, especially during the opening sequence when 2 of them are engaging in dogfight mid-air. Lines are never lost in translation even with multiple activities taking place in various audio channels. Every detail is beautifully captured by the surround speakers, even if it is just a spider crawling overhead you.

Lord of The Rings Trilogy (PG-13)
One trilogy to rule them all. Lord the Rings is definitely spatial surround reference material. Overhead to down below, there is no space that is left untouched in the array of sound sets that provides so much depth to create a 3D soundstage. Pay close attention to the dynamic changes in dialogue during the scenes with Smeagol and Gollum. Battle sequences are where your subwoofer(s) will shine with bass assaults from the earth-shaking roars and footsteps of the trolls. Fury from the Balrog will cap your surround bubble to ignite the life of the movie right into your living room. We say, giddy-up on your saddle for a journey to Middle-earth.

Fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion will either hate or love this movie but, there is no denying that it features some of the best robot surround sounds. The clarity of the mechanical whirring and every creak shines though, regardless if it is merely programmed to be a background mood enhancement or designed to be the leader of your center channels’ show. With building-sized robots, of course, there will be larger-than-life battles that will test your subwoofer(s) ability to reproduce every ground-shaking fall and explosion accurately.
